OUR ORIGINS

In 1958, Gonzalo Ríos and Purificación Cagigas founded a small family business dedicated to making ice cream cones. Purificación oversaw production while raising their four children, while Gonzalo focused on sales and distribution. In 1982, they took a significant step forward by moving their facilities to a 1,200 m² industrial building and modernizing their machinery and production processes. The economic crisis that hit Spain in 2007 also affected the company, forcing its management to implement changes to adapt to a changing market. "We had to be competitive, grow in the domestic market, and explore the international market," they explained. By then, the second generation, the founders' children, were already working alongside them, decisively undertaking a process of modernizing machinery and conquering foreign markets. In 2020, GONZALO RIOS, SL expanded its facilities and began a process of professionalizing its processes and staff to successfully complete the project that had begun as a small-scale operation.
