Our origins

In 1958, Gonzalo Ríos and Purificación Cagigas founded a family microbusiness dedicated to the production of ice cream cones. Their beginnings were difficult, guided by a strong entrepreneurial spirit combined with hard work and sacrifice. The seed was planted in the basement of the building where they lived, working in a very artisanal way. Purificación supervised production while raising four children, while Gonzalo focused on sales and distribution. In 1982, they took a qualitative leap and moved their facilities to a 1,200 m2 industrial warehouse, modernizing machinery and production.


The crisis that hit Spain in 2007 also affected the company, forcing its managers to implement changes to adapt to a changing market. We had to be competitive, grow domestically, and explore the international market. By then, the second generation, their children, were already working alongside the founders, resolutely immersing themselves in a process of modernizing machinery and conquering foreign markets.

In 2020, GONZALO RIOS, SL expanded its facilities again and began a process of professionalizing its processes and people to successfully complete the project it began in 1958.
